The CIPS team of 5 cyclists: Francis McPeake, Simon Michael, Nigel Morris, Jonathan Rubins and Mike Turner, trained hard over the winter months to be well prepared for the event which took place on Sunday 9 July in Cardiff.

A closed road sportive event, running alongside a professional race, the challenging 140km course incorporated two famous climbs: "Caerphilly Mountain" and "The Tumble” with a total elevation of 1,822 metres.

So, whilst the guys had managed to get plenty of cycling miles and other events in their legs since the start of the year, it was still a tough challenge but was well worth the effort. Perhaps it was just the post finish euphoria but all committed to doing the event again next year.
